What I am working on: |
I serve as director for Kansas State University’s online graduate certificate and Master of Science in Community Development program. I also serve as faculty coordinator for the Great Plains IDEA Community Development online graduate program consortium, which KSUs Community Development program is part.

My Achievements: |
In 2018, I was honored to receive the Excellence in Teaching Award from the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), Central Region for my course instruction in our community development program.
I am also proud to have previously published in CDS’s journal, Community Development: Gibson, H.J. and Canfield, J. (2016). Pocket parks as community building blocks: A focus on Stapleton, CO. Community Development, 47(5), 732-745 |
Work experience / Education: |
I am currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning at Kansas State University.
I received a PhD in Planning from Florida State University in 2009, and a Master of Science in Planning from the University of Tennessee in 2002. |
